Subtropical front

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The subtropical front is in each case at the height of the horse latitude , between the Ferrel cell and the Hadley cell .

The subtropical front is the equatorial boundary of the planetary frontal zone , which extends approximately between the 30th and 60th parallel . It is a zonal air mass boundary with strong thermal contrast in the subtropical area .

About 30 ° north of the subtropical front there is another global air mass limit: the polar front . This represents the planetary frontal zone on the side of the Ferrel cell facing the poles . The subtropical front extends vertically between the subtropical high pressure belt ( on the ground) and the area of the subtropical jet stream (in the height).
