Keyword density

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Suchwort- or keyword density (of English keyword density ) describes how often a term (search term) occurs in a document. It is the quotient of the absolute number of a certain term (word or word combination) and the number of all terms in the document.

Influence on search engine ranking

The evaluation of a website for a search term entered in a search query is carried out by the so-called ranking algorithm of a search engine . A large number of factors are taken into account, including the search word density. In the search engine optimization is attempted, the keyword density of web pages that a high ranking is achieved on the results pages of search engines adapt to. In addition to the keyword density, the term WDF * IDF and the Tf-idf measure are also used when creating the text for search engine optimization . In addition to the frequency of a search term, consideration is given to the word context.

It is not certain whether or to what extent it plays a role in the search engine ranking algorithms.

example

In a website that contains a total of ten words, every word that occurs once achieves a search word density of 10%; for words that appear twice, it is 20%.
