Sudakova Island ( English , Russian Острова Судакова Ostrowa Sudakowa , German 'Sudakow Islands' ) is an island off the Knox coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . It is located in the area of the Bunger Oasis .
Soviet scientists mapped them as a group of islands and named them. It is named after the Soviet petrographer Valeri Alexandrowitsch Sudakow (1927-1959), who died in Antarctica . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia translated this name into English in an adapted form.
