The Knox Coast is a stretch of coast in East Antarctica Wilkesland that stretches between Cape Hordern at 100 ° 31'E and the Hatch Islands at 109 ° 16'E. Off the coast lies the Mawson Sea , a marginal sea of the Southern Ocean .

The coast was discovered in February 1840 as part of the United States Exploring Expedition (1838–1842) led by the American polar explorer Charles Wilkes . Wilkes named her after Lieutenant Samuel Richardson Knox (1811-1867) of the United States Navy , captain of the USS Flying Fish on this expedition.

In this area is the Bunger Oasis with the Bunger Hills and Uran Island among others .
