The Sudan National Petroleum Corporation (short Sudapet ) is a state-owned oil company of Sudan , based in Khartoum .

The company was founded in 1997 and is 100% owned by the Ministry of Energy and Mining.

At present (as of 2006) Sudapet itself is not actively involved in the oil industry, but only serves the participation of the Sudanese government in the oil profits. However, there are efforts within the government and on the company's board of directors to gradually acquire the resources and techniques for independent exploration and production and to develop Sudapet into a full-fledged oil company.
