Sue Scott (sociologist)

Sue Scott is a British feminist and sociologist . She is an honorary professor at the Center for Women's Studies at the University of York and is President of the European Sociological Association from 2017-2019 .

After studying sociology at various British universities and teaching and research assignments, Scott became a professor at the University of Durham in 1999 , where she was temporarily dean . In 2004 she moved to Keele University (Dean) and in 2009 to Glasgow Caledonian University ( Pro Vice Chancellor for Research ). In 2012 she resigned from this post, worked as a freelance in sociological research and became an honorary professor in York.

Her research interests are in gender studies , sex research and risk research .
