Susan Jane "Sue" Smith (born November 24, 1979 in Liverpool ) is an English soccer player who currently plays for the Lincoln Ladies.

career

Sue Smith has played for Tranmere Rovers since she was a teenager . After a few years she received several offers from top clubs. She signed for Leeds United and moved in the summer of 2002. After Leeds had not received a starting place for the new FA Women's Super League , Smith moved to the Lincoln Ladies.

On February 27, 1997, she made her debut in the English national team in an international match in Preston against Germany , where she scored her first goal in the 87th minute. In February 1999 she played on the occasion of the group draw for the 1999 World Cup with a FIFA World Cup against the United States women's national soccer team . The game is not counted as an official international match.

Her biggest moment with the national team was when she scored a hat trick in a friendly against Spain in February 2001 .

In 1999 and 2001, Smith won the Nationwide International Player of the Year Award .

With the English national soccer team of women she took part in the soccer world championship of women in 2007 .
