The Suffield Point is a headland on the south side of the Fildes Peninsula of King George Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located between Rocky Cove in the east and Norma Cove to the west , both of which are secondary bays of Maxwell Bay .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations mapped and named the headland between 1934 and 1935. It is named after William E. Suffield, boatswain of Discovery II from 1929 to 1939, who was involved in the survey work of the South Orkney Islands in January 1933rd
