Sufficiency (Latin for sufficiency or sufficiency) is the medical term for sufficient functionality or unrestricted performance of an organ or organ system .

In emergency medicine, for example, the sufficiency of the cardiovascular system is monitored by measuring the oxygen content in the blood .

With the help of an ultrasound examination , the sufficiency of veins can be checked.

The more commonly used opposite is insufficiency .
