Suite Chic was a musical project in collaboration with the most popular musicians and newcomers of the time, as well as songwriters and producers from the Japanese R&B and hip-hop scene, which debuted on December 18, 2002.

Above all, the project served the singer Namie Amuro as a vehicle to solidify her image as an R&B artist, as her popularity as a pop singer had declined significantly during this period. Many of the artists in this project achieved greater success after the dissolution of this project, and Amuro's career is said to have been revived as well.

In an interview with Amuro in late 2005, she said that she would like the project to make a comeback in 2006. But this was not realized.

history

The producer and songwriter Ryosuke Imai spoke to the musician Verbal ( M-Flo ) about who the Japanese Janet Jackson was. The result of their conversation was Namie Amuro , who lost her popularity due to a break. Both produced demos and presented them to Amuro without permission. With which the “Suite Chic” project was finally realized. The project had names like DJ Muro, Dabo and Ai as a guest contribution , which subsequently became successful.

The title “Suite Chic” was invented by Verbal and is a combination of “sophisticated” and “cool”.
