The Sultan Glacier is a glacier on Elephant Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It flows in a south-westerly direction to Table Bay .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1971 after the ship HMS Sultan that served as a base camp for the participants in the Joint Services Expedition to Elephant Island (1970-1971).
