The Sumida Triphony Hall ( Jap. すみだトリフォニーホール, Sumida Torifonī Horu ) is a 1997 Kinshi, in the district of Sumida , Tokyo opened concert hall . The concert hall has a large hall with 1801 seats or 1601 seats if the orchestra pit is used. There are 761 places in two galleries. The second, small hall has 252 seats. The main purpose of the large hall is to perform classical music ; it is also the main venue of the "New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra" ( English New Japan Philharmonic ). In addition to the two halls, the concert hall has three different rehearsal rooms for up to 30 musicians and an organ made by the Dresden company Jehmlich with 4735 organ pipes based on the Baroque era . The Sumida Triphony Hall was designed by the Japanese architecture firm Nikken Sekkei and built for 19,960 million yen.
