Prokurawa (Ukrainian and Russian Прокурава ; Polish Prokurawa ) is a village in western Ukraine about 23 kilometers west of the Rajon capital Kosiv on the Pistynka River ( Пістинька ).
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1633 and was in the Austrian crown land of Galicia until 1918 , then from 1918 to 1939 in the Second Polish Republic ( Stanislau Voivodeship , Powiat Kosów , Gmina Pistyń ) and since 1939/1945 as part of the Soviet Union within the Ukrainian SSR and, since 1991, Ukraine .
On September 13, 2016, the village became part of the newly founded rural community Kosmatsch (Космацька сільська громада / Kosmazka silska hromada ), until then it had formed an independent district council .
