Sun Hongbin
Sun Hongbin (Chinese: 孙宏斌; * 1963 in Yuncheng , Shanxi Province ) is a Chinese entrepreneur, real estate developer and founder and chairman of Sunac China Holdings . In mid-2019, his net worth was estimated at $ 10.4 billion .
Life
Sun earned a masters degree from Tsinghua University in 1985 and attended a six-week advanced management program at Harvard Business School in 2000 .
He first worked for Lenovo and founded his first company, the real estate business Sunco , in 1994 . The company failed and Sun sold it to Road King Infrastructure in 2006 .
In 2003 he founded the real estate developer Sunac in Tianjin , which went public in 2010. He owns almost half of the shares in the company, which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange .

Sun is a US citizen and lives in Tianjin. He is married and has two children.
In 1992 he was sentenced to five years in prison for embezzlement. He was released in March 1994, appealed his conviction, and was found innocent by judicial review in 2003.
