The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong , short SEHK ( Chinese 香港 聯合 交易所 / 香港 联合 交易所 , short 香港 聯交所 / 香港 联交所 ) is the Hong Kong stock exchange . Together with the Hong Kong Futures Exchange and the London Metal Exchange , it belongs to the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX).
The SEHK is one of the three stock exchanges in China , along with the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges . Because of its established access to the international capital market , it is also used by companies in mainland China, which are traded here in the form of so-called H shares .
In terms of market capitalization , the SEHK ranks third in Asia and seventh in the world with a good HK $ 16 trillion (US $ 2.1 trillion) after the Tokyo and Shanghai stock exchanges. The market capitalization of all companies listed on the stock exchange rose to 3,964 billion US dollars by August 2017 .
Important indices on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange are the Hang Seng Index and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index .
Exchange opening times: 9:30 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm local time (2:30 am to 5:00 pm and 6:00 am to 9:00 am CET, 3:30 am to 6:00 pm and 7:00 am: 00-10: 00 a.m. CEST).
