Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited ( HKEX for short , Chinese  香港 交易 及 結算 所 有限公司  /  香港 交易 及 结算 所 有限公司 , also 香港 交易所 or 港交所 ) is the holding company of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange . The company was founded on March 6, 2000 and is included in the Hang Seng Index .

On June 15, 2012, the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing announced the takeover of the London Metal Exchange for the equivalent of around 1.7 billion euros. The Hong Kong Futures Exchange is also part of HKEX .
