MTR Corporation Ltd. (MTRC) ( Chinese 香港 鐵路 有限公司 / 香港 铁路 有限公司 , Pinyin Xiānggǎng Tiělù Yǒuxiàn Gōngsī , Jyutping Hoeng 1 gong 2 Tit 3 lou 6 Jau 4 haan 6 Gung 1 si 1 ) is a Chinese company with headquarters in Hong Kong , 1975 to Hong Kong subway operation established. The company is listed in the Hang Seng Index and, after partial privatization in 2000, is 75.09% held by the administrative authority of the Special Administrative Region. MTR is also active abroad in the area of operation and maintenance of local transport and railway infrastructures .

MTR is one of the companies that submitted an application in July 2013 to participate in the procurement procedure of the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg for the sub-network Ring of the S-Bahn Berlin . According to press reports, however, MTR withdrew from the proceedings early in 2014.
