China Shenhua Energy ( Chinese  神 华 能源 , Pinyin shénhuánéngyuán ) is a Chinese mining company headquartered in Beijing . It mines coal in the Shenfu Dongsheng area, among others . It is one of the largest mining companies in Asia and the largest Chinese coal company.

China Shenhua Energy exploits significant Chinese coal deposits and can use synergy effects from the Group's own infrastructure. This includes the railway network, two port facilities and eleven coal-fired power plants with an installed capacity of 11.96 gigawatts .

With revenues of $ 36.4 billion, the company posted a profit of $ 6.7 billion in fiscal 2017.

The company took over Shendong Coal and Shendong Energy in 2007 . China Shenhua Energy is listed on the Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges.

In January 2017, a research joint venture and a so-called equipment joint venture for the sale and maintenance of CIGS thin-film solar modules are founded with Manz AG and Shanghai Electric . A production line with a capacity of 306 megawatts (in Chongqing, China) and a research line with a capacity of 44 megawatts are to be built. Due to the Chinese climate protection goals, a switch to more climate-friendly energies is initiated.
