Sun Mei-ying

Sun Mei-ying (* approx. 1932) is a former Chinese table tennis player . In the 1950s and 1960s she won nine medals at world championships .

Career

From 1953 to 1963 Sun Mei-ying took part in six world championships . She achieved her greatest success in 1961 when she won silver both in doubles and with the team. In doubles with Qiu Zhonghui she lost in the final against the Romanians Maria Alexandru / Georgita Pitica . In singles she reached the quarterfinals, in mixed with Wang Chuan-Yao she reached the semifinals.

She won further bronze medals in team competition in 1957 , 1959 and 1963, as well as in doubles with Qiu Zhonghui and mixed with Wang Chuan-Yao in 1959 and in singles in 1963.

In the ITTF world rankings , Sun Mei-ying was ranked 6th in 1961 and 1964.
