The Sunken rock (from the English loosely translated Sunken rock ) is a submariner Rifffelsen in the archipelago of Heard Island and McDonald Islands in the southern Indian Ocean . It is located on the north side of Heard Island .
Scientists from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions carried out its survey and descriptive naming in 1948.
