The SuperDragon 2 8 × 8 is an airfield fire-fighting vehicle built by the company Magirus GmbH from Ulm since 2007 .

description

The vehicle is 12.80 m long, 3 m wide and 3.80 m high. The basis of the SuperDragon 2 is a newly developed chassis called CFR (Crash Fire Rescue) with a rear engine and rigid axles with coil springs. The vehicle accelerates from 0 km / h to 80 km / h in 25 seconds . It reaches a top speed of 135 km / h. The two motors with a total of 1,120 hp develop enough power to allow the pump , which requires 275 hp, to do its job under full load. The tank volume of the vehicle with extinguishing water is 14,000 to 17,000 liters. The pump delivers 10,000 liters per minute at a pressure of 10 bar. The foam tank contains 1,500 to 2,500 l, powder in the amount of 500 to 1,000 kg and 120 kg of CO 2 . The cabin is made of aluminum and offers space for 3 to 6 people.

The airfield fire engines of the series are available as two- , three- and four-axle vehicles with all-wheel drive . In addition, the Impact series was manufactured in Ulm in 2011 and can be ordered as two- and three-axle vehicles with all-wheel drive.
