The sports channel Super Sports Network TV (SSN TV) was launched in the summer of 2007 almost a year late. The broadcaster wanted to specialize in sports that are given little or no attention in the German television landscape today. SSN TV wanted to broadcast a full sports program that included archive material from the fields of football, handball and basketball. Current sporting events come from the fields of motor sports, tennis, badminton, beach volleyball, kayaking, climbing, snowboarding, surfing and BMX. Further broadcasting licenses have been secured in the areas of golf, sailing, horse riding, athletics, swimming, gymnastics, baseball, rugby and cricket. In addition to fitness and wellness programs, sports news and sports weather are also presented. The broadcast profile is rounded off by reports on sports trade fairs and portraits of well-known sports personalities.

Initially the start was planned for the end of October 2006, then for the beginning of February 2007, this date has also been postponed. The State Agency for Media (LfM) from North Rhine-Westphalia initially granted the broadcasting license until 2016. The station is financed through advertising, but the Super Sports Network wanted to forego ringtone and erotic advertising and call-in shows.

Broadcasting ceased in December 2009. According to the Commission for determining the concentration in the media sector , this is a provisional measure.
