history

The band was founded in 2007 by singer, guitarist, composer and music producer Tommy Kaub in Frankenthal . Initially, Superjam mainly presented songs by reggae musicians such as Bob Marley , Peter Tosh , UB40, Diana King, 10CC or Inner Circle, before adding their own compositions to the repertoire in 2008. Her debut album rEvolution pARTy with exclusively self-composed songs was released in June 2012 through self-distribution. After the Rootmission Festival Tours in 2013 and 2014 in many German cities, the recordings for the second studio album Root Mission began in the spring of 2015 , which was released in June 2017 and followed the debut in terms of both content and music. They made numerous appearances, including a. at festivals (Schlossgrabenfest, Sunrise Reggae & Ska Festival, Little Woodstock, Bangarang, Africa Days Vienna, Tropic Jam Festival) and in music clubs at home and abroad; In 2019 they will tour the UK for the 4th time in a row and give a. a. at the legendary Hootananny Club in London-Brixton.

Musically, Superjam can be assigned to modern roots reggae, with a touch of dub, dancehall, jazz and rock. Singer / songwriter Tommy Kaub's voice and guitar playing are other trademarks of the band, as is singer Jay Gomes ("Queen of Reggae"), who joined the band in 2017. In terms of content, they stand out for their demanding German texts, often with politically critical content. Superjam are also committed to promoting peace and human rights.
