Supertramp. Autobiography of a vagabond
Supertramp. Autobiography of a vagabond (English original title: The Autobiography of a Super-Tramp ) is a story published in 1908 by the Welsh poet and writer William Henry Davies (1871-1940). The music group Supertramp named itself after the title.

The story portrays the simple life in England and the USA at the turn of the century before last from the timeless, distant perspective of an unrestricted wandering intellectual. The book is based on the author's own experiences. Davies had emigrated to the United States at the age of 22, where he had survived as a tramp, sailor, and casual laborer. After losing a leg trying to jump on a moving train, he returned to Britain. Incapable of hard physical labor, he began to write.
