Surf Days

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under Surf Days (German: Surf days) is understood in the maritime days when a lying at anchor ship can not be loaded.

details

The term goes back to freight contracts with merchant ships, which were loaded with saltpeter by soul scissors lying in the roadstead in front of Chile . Since there is often a strong swell in the sea area in question , which makes it impossible for the barges to go back and forth, these days are excluded from the regularly paid berth days.
