The Armenian Surp Nigoğayos Church ( Armenian Սամսուն - Ջանիկ Սուրբ Նիկողոս - Նիկողայոս , Turkish Canik Surp Nigoğayos Ermeni Kilisesi ) was an Armenian Orthodox Church built in 1840 , dedicated to St. Nikolaus church in the northern Turkish Black Sea city of Samsun . According to other sources, it was built in 1849. After the genocide of the Armenians , the church fell into disrepair; today it no longer exists.

The church building, which was made a bishopric in 1897, was located in the city's Armenian quarter, now known as Selahiye . In 1936 the church was destroyed and the " August 30th Primary School " (30 Ağustos İlkokulu) was built on its foundation walls , which has been a religious Imam Hatip school since 2002 . Next to the church was a two-story wooden house that served as the bishop's guest house; Today it is the "Gâzi Paşa Primary School" (Gâzi Paşa İlkokulu) .
