Surrogate (Latin surrogatus "replacement") stands for:
- generally a substitute that replaces another substance in a manufacturing process
special:
- a food surrogate , an inferior substitute for a high quality food
- a vaccine made from harmless or weakened ( attenuated ) pathogens, which nevertheless makes you immune to the main pathogen, see e.g. B. Vaccinia Virus
