Susanne Hofer (artist)

Susanne Hofer (born July 29, 1970 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss artist specializing in video and installation. She lives and works in Zurich .

life and work

Susanne Hofer graduated from high school at the Reussbühl Cantonal School in 1990 and studied art and education at the Lucerne School of Design from 1990 to 1995 .

She works as a freelance artist in the fields of video and video installation. Her works are exhibited at home and abroad and are in various collections.

In 1996 she and the video artist Marianne Halter won the Swiss Video Show Prize from VIPER Lucerne. She received numerous grants for her work. With various studio stays she was in Berlin, Paris, Chicago, New York and Miami. From 2012 to 2014 it was part of the OG9 project, an artistic temporary use project of the Kunsthaus Aussersihl.

Susanne Hofer is co-founder of the Kunsthaus Aussersihl and the Wall & Stage project space in Zurich.
