Susanne Kilian

Susanne Kilian , née Welk (born August 2, 1940 in Berlin ) is a German author .

biography

Kilian is the daughter of a bank clerk. After graduating from high school, she carried out various activities. In 1969 she wrote her first story. Ten books followed, some of which were translated into Japanese and Catalan. She mainly writes for children and young people. Her texts can be found in numerous reading books. Today she lives in Eltville am Rhein .

Like other authors in the early 1970s, Kilian endeavored to depict children's everyday lives in a realistic manner. In the 1972 No Book for Children , which has been reprinted several times, she criticizes social grievances and takes anti-authoritarian positions.
