Susanne Mierau (* 1980 in Berlin ) is a German author , blogger and pedagogue for toddlers . She wrote books on the topic of safe childhood.

Life

Mierau studied pedagogy with a focus on toddler pedagogy and the minor subjects psychology and sociology at the Free University of Berlin and worked there on research projects by Kuno Beller and Wolfgang Tietze. After completing her studies, she worked in research and teaching at the Department of Infant Education at the Free University of Berlin. She visited u. a. Further training at the Society for Birth Preparation and in 2011 acquired the license to practice medicine professionally without appointment . In 2012 she founded the blog "Geborgen Wachsen". Susanne Mierau lives in Berlin with her husband and three children.

Her main topics include attachment theory , attachment parenting and the topic of digital parents, which she first spoke about at the 2014 republica and coined the term "online parent clan". Susanne Mierau is also committed to self-determined birth and better conditions for births in Germany.

In 2018, Susanne Mierau and midwife Anja Gaca made the April Fool's joke "Die Autogeburt" to point out the bad situation of obstetrics in Germany. The April Fool's joke went viral on Twitter under #autogeburt .

The special achievement of Ms. Mierau is to prepare the theories of attachment parenting in a modern way and to adapt them to the current social conditions and to bring them closer to a broad mass of interested parties under the term "Geborgen Wachsen".
