Sutoro ( Aramaic ܡܟܬܒܐ ܕܣܘܬܪܐ ܣܘܪܝܝܐ, Arabic سوتورو) is a Christian Aramaic-Assyrian militia that is active in northeast Syria , especially in the province of al-Hasakah .

In the region around the cities of al-Qahtaniyah and al-Malikiya , the Sutoro is subordinate to the Assyrian Unity Party (SUP), which is allied with the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD). In the city of Qamishli , a distinction is made between the Sutoro, subordinate to the SUP, and the Sootoro , which is related to the Assad government . The Sutoro received their military training in the training camps of the Kurdish People's Defense Units (YPG).

In June 2016, members of the Sutoro in Qamishli thwarted an assassination attempt on the patriarch of the Syrian Orthodox Church , Ignatius Ephrem II Karim .
