Sebastian Kowalówka (born August 9, 1986 in Oświęcim ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Aksam Unia Oświęcim in the Ekstraliga since September 2016 .

Career

Club

Sebastian Kowalówka began his career as a hockey player in the youth division of Unia Oświęcim . In 2002 he moved to the junior academy of the Polish Ice Hockey Association , for whose second team he played in the second-class I league in 2004 . At the age of 18 he returned to his hometown and from then on played for Unia Oświęcim in the Ekstraliga . In 2007, he left the team from Auschwitz and moved to the small Polish capital Krakow , where he met the KS Cracovia 2008 and 2009 Polish champion was. Despite these successes, he moved to JKH GKS Jastrzębie in 2009 , only to return to Unia Oświęcim in 2010. In 2012 he moved to Cracovia Krakow for the second time, where he was able to win the Polish championship title again straight away. Since 2015, interrupted by a detour to Polonia Bytom at the beginning of the 2016 season, he has been playing again for his home club from Oświęcim.

International

For Poland, Kowalówka took part in Division I of the U18 World Cup in 2003 and 2004 in the junior division . In 2004 he also represented his colors in Division II of the U20 World Cup when he was promoted to Division I with five clear wins in his home town of Sosnowiec . There he then took part in the U20 tournaments in 2005 , when he was named best goal setter, and in 2006 .

Kowalówka made his debut in the men's national team at the men's ice hockey world championship in 2008 in Division I. In the following years, he also represented his colors at the Division I tournaments of the 2009 World Championships , which took place in Toruń , in 2013 , 2014 and 2015 . He also played for Poland in the Olympic qualification for the Vancouver Games in 2010.
