The DR-Z 400 SM ( Super Moto -version) and the DR-Z 400 S ( Enduro -version) have a water-cooled single cylinder - four cycle engine with 398 cc displacement , the at 7,600 min -1 a power yields of 29 kW / 40 PS . The top speed is around 151 km / h . The competition enduro DR-Z 400 E has a 50 HP engine.
DR-Z 400 SM and DR-Z 400 S
The DR-Z 400 SM is 2.22 m long and weighs 134 kg ( dry weight ), the permissible total weight is 335 kg. Sales stopped in 2008. The emission values do not correspond to the Euro 3 emission standard . The DR-Z 400 S is 2.31 m long and weighs 132 kg ( dry weight ), the permissible total weight is 335 kg. The DR-Z 400 S was first available in 2000. Since then, only minor changes have been made. The chassis was later improved, it was taken over from the competition model, the DR-Z 400 E. A weak point on the DRZ motor was apparently the timing chain tensioner, which was revised in 2003. The last big change was the rear muffler with catalytic converter due to changed emissions regulations.
