Luis Miguel Sánchez Cerro (born August 12, 1889 in Piura , Perú , † April 30, 1933 in Lima , Peru ) was a Peruvian general and politician who was de facto head of state in 1930 and, after his election, de jure president of Peru one year after taking office has been.

Sánchez Cerro took part in the military coup that overthrew Guillermo Billinghurst in 1914 and later organized the coup against Augusto B. Leguía . After his uprising, which was part of an uprising that spread across the country, he was proclaimed provisional president by the insurgents in 1930.

During his reign he fought bitterly the left-wing populist APRA , which he had banned. During an APRA uprising in Trujillo , he had bombers used, killing 1,000 APRA militants. He tried to secure his power base through social reforms. Sánchez Cerro was murdered by an APRA militant during his presidency in 1933.
