Oscar R. Benavides
Óscar Raimundo Benavides (March 15, 1876 - July 2, 1945 ) was General and President of Peru (1914-1915 and 1933-1939).
In 1914 he crashed as Colonel of the Army President Guillermo Billinghurst and seized power himself.
In the second reign of 1933–1939, Benavides followed a strict political direction that was combined with economic progress. When the Alianza Popular Revolucionaria Americana ( APRA ) won the 1936 election, Benavides ignored the results and continued his government. In 1939 he was replaced as president by Manuel Prado y Ugarteche .
