Serapio Calderón
Serapio Calderón Chirinos (* 1843 in Paucartambo , † 1922 in Cusco ) was temporarily the President of Peru in 1904 .
Calderón was born in Paucartambo in what is now the Cusco region in 1843 . He was Rector of the University of Cusco, MP and President of the Regional Court. Under Manuel Candamo , Calderón became second vice president in 1903. The first vice president was Lino Alarco, who died before his inauguration. Therefore, Calderón was named president on May 7, 1904, due to the death of Candamo. On April 18, he had already taken over the powers of attorney from the sick Candamo, initially temporarily. He called new elections, which were won by José Pardo y Barreda . Calderón passed the presidency to Pardo on September 24, 1904.
He died in Cusco in 1922.
