The Sven Vintappares torg is a small square in Gamla Stan , the old town of the Swedish capital Stockholm .

It is located in the western part of Gamla Stan and opens up on a small area of only about 10 by 7 meters between two small alleys that touch the square to the north ( Sven Vintappares gränd ) and south ( Didrik Ficks gränd ). Both streets lead from Stora Nygatan in the west to Västerlånggatan in the east .

Some of the buildings surrounding the square date from the 17th century. The name of the square is reminiscent of Sven Staffansson , a religious servant and wine tavern of the Swedish king who lived in Gamla Stan.

There is a small hotel on the square that also operates a café.
