The Svindersviksbron is a road bridge in the municipality of Nacka in the Swedish province of County of Stockholm .

It bridges a narrow arm of the Baltic Sea , called Svindersviken , and thus connects the Kvarnholmen peninsula with the town of Nacka . At its eastern end, it turns directly into the Ryssbergen tunnel on a steep slope .

description

Svindersviksbron is an arched bridge with a curved floor plan with a suspended deck girder. The structure is 195 m long in total, the clamped arch has a span of 140 m. The 12 m wide bridge has a directional lane and on its northern side a 3.5 m wide footpath and bike path. Their clearance height is 18 m.

Its load-bearing structure consists of two arched steel box girders , inclined slightly inward , which are stiffened by eight cross struts. The deck girder is suspended from them with ten hangers each. The carriageway girder itself consists of a steel trough with lateral cantilever arms and a concrete slab connected to the trough and the cantilever arms.

history

A bridge over the Svindersviken had been planned since 2007, but its construction was long delayed due to disputes over environmental problems. Ultimately, Bilfinger SE was commissioned to carry out the draft it had submitted. Construction began in 2013. Completion was originally scheduled for 2015, but was delayed until the bridge and tunnel were opened on June 11, 2016.

According to the design by Bilfinger, the steel bridge superstructure was built on the western side on the site of the future street. The arch construction was reinforced by temporary, internal scaffolding and other constructive measures so that it formed a uniform component during the subsequent advance or floating in, similar to a tied arch bridge . The arch structure was then pushed out over the bank until its front end could be supported by a scaffolding pillar on a pontoon . By means of this first pontoon and a feed carriage, it was pushed further over the inlet until a second scaffolding pillar, also standing on a pontoon, largely took over its weight. Then it was pushed so far over the arm of the sea that it could be placed on the cantilever arms prepared on both sides of the fighters .

The cost of the project (bridge and tunnel) was approximately 350 million Swedish kronor .
