Swan Lake (English for "Swan Lake") is a lake in the Canadian province of Manitoba . It is named after the trumpeter swans found here . The lake is located west of Lake Winnipegosis , in which it is drained to the north via the Shoal River . Its water surface is 310 km², the catchment area covers 9930 km². It lies at an altitude of 259 m. On the west bank of the lake, where the main tributaries Swan River and Woody River flow into Swan Lake, there is a wetland area, which is important for migratory birds.
