Swetoslaw Christow Malinow (also Svetoslav Hristov Malinov ; Bulgarian Светослав Христов Малинов ; born January 19, 1968 in Dupnitsa ) is a Bulgarian political scientist , politician , founding member of the Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria (DSB) and European Parliamentarian .
Life
Svetoslaw Malinow was born in the western Bulgarian town of Stanke Dimitrov (now Dupnitsa). After graduating from the English-language high school Geo Milew in Burgas , he studied political science at St. Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia .
After graduating in 1993, he went to Norway ( University of Oslo ), Italy, the USA and Great Britain, and Malinow received his master's degree in political philosophy from the University of York in 1996 . In 1999, Malinov received his doctorate in political conservatism in England and followed a call to teach at the Department of Political Science at Sofia University. He currently teaches the history of political ideas .
Between 2001 and 2002 Malinow headed the Political Analysis and Strategy of the Union of Democratic Forces . Since 2002 he has been editor-in-chief of the journal for political theory and culture Разум .
In 2004 he was one of the founding members of the DSB. Between 2005 and 2007 he was a member of its board of directors and has been deputy party chairman since 2011.
From 2005 to 2009 he was a member of the Bulgarian Parliament . He has been a member of the EU Parliament since December 1, 2011 . There he belongs to the Group of the European People's Party .
