Swing the Mood is a successful song by the English music project Jive Bunny & the Mastermixers , which was released on June 24, 1989. The piece, consisting of a string of different pop and rock & roll songs, reached the top of the charts in Germany, Austria and the United Kingdom.

background

Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers originally consisted of Andy and John Pickles, father and son, who ran a remix service called Music Factory. As early as 1988, a so-called “party mix” was created, in which several rock & roll songs were mixed to the melody of Glenn Miller's In the Mood . The song was produced by Andy Pickles and DJ Les Hemstock, who reportedly only received £ 100 for his work.

The piece became popular and so the duo decided to release the song as a single . They had to rewrite the piece a bit because they did not receive the approvals for all the pieces used. Then they founded the music project Jive Bunny & the Mastermixers. Jive Bunny was Andy Pickles' nickname. Jive Bunny also became a trademark of the band as a cartoon bunny.

Swing the Mood was finally released on June 24, 1989 as a single with the accompanying music video. The song consisted of the following tracks, which were strung together by copy & paste and as a mashup:
