The synagogue in Launceston , a city in the Australian state of Tasmania , was built in 1844. The synagogue on St. John's Street has been a listed building since 1989 .

The synagogue in oriental style was built according to plans by the architect Richard Peter Lambeth (1807–1877). It is the second oldest synagogue in Australia and a rare example of Egyptian architecture in the country.
