The synagogue in Fulda , a town in Hesse , was built in 1858/59. The synagogue was in Judengasse, today Am Stockhaus street .

history

The synagogue was built on the site of a previous building that had been demolished. In 1927 the building was extended and a gallery was created for women and the choir.

During the November pogrom in 1938 , the synagogue was burned down under the SS site commandant Otto Grüner. The ruin was demolished at the end of January 1939. The Jewish community had to cover the costs. In addition to the former synagogue, the building of the community secretariat, which also housed the ritual bath ( mikveh ), has been preserved.
