Synagogue (Kosova Hora)
The synagogue in Kosova Hora (German Amschelberg), a community in the Czech Okres Příbram of the Středočeský kraj (German Central Bohemian Region), was built in the 1740s. The synagogue is a protected architectural monument .
history
After a fire in 1740, the Jewish community of Kosova Hora had a new synagogue built, which was used until the end of the 19th century. After the dissolution of the Jewish community in Kosova Hora in 1893, the remaining Jews attended church services in Selchan ( Sedlčany in Polish ) three kilometers away .
Thanks to a private initiative, the former synagogue building, which had already fallen into disrepair, was extensively renovated. Documentation on the history of the former Jewish community of Anschelberg is to be shown in the building.
