Synagogue in Turku

The synagogue in Turku , a city on the southwest coast of Finland , was completed in 1912. The synagogue of the Ashkenazi community on Puutori Square is a protected cultural monument .

The Art Nouveau building was built according to plans by the architects August Krook and Johan Eskil Hindersson . The brick and quarry stone synagogue is surmounted by a dome .
