Systems Application Architecture

The System Application Architecture (engl. Systems Application Architecture, SAA ) is a collection of standards for cross-system software development , which of IBM were introduced in the late 1980s. The first implementations were in the IBM operating systems OS / 2 , OS / 400 and AIX .

The most important standards within the SAA are:

  • CPI - Common Programming Interface is an application programming interface.
  • CUA - Common User Access provides recommendations for the design of the user interface .
  • CCS - Common Communication Support are recommendations for integrating application systems in networks .

The procedure language REXX was intended as the common language for application control .
