The Türkiye (Resmi) Komünist Partisi or German  (Official) Communist Party of Turkey was a political party founded by its supporters on the orders of Mustafa Kemal Pascha during the Turkish War of Liberation .

founding

The reason for the establishment of this party was the popularity of communism in Anatolia after the October Revolution . The growing labor movement in Istanbul , the founding of the Comintern- supported Communist Party of Turkey in Baku and the left-wing organizations that were both politically (Green Army group) and militarily (troops from Çerkez Ethem ) were a current threat to the Kemalists. In particular, a unified communist movement supported by the Bolsheviks would be an important alternative to the Kemalist movement in Anatolia. In order to at least keep a possible unification of the left under his influence and to win the sympathy and support of the Soviet Union, Mustafa Kemal ordered a communist party to be founded in 1920.

resolution

After the party no longer had any function with the securing of Soviet aid and the decisive defeat of the left forces (above all the murder of the majority of the central committee members of the TKP in Trabzon and the defeat of the Çerkez Ethem movement), it dissolved in 1921.
