Tuheitia Paki (born April 21, 1955 ) is king of the Māori , more precisely the Tainui tribal association . He is the eldest son of Te Atairangikaahu and was proclaimed and crowned her successor at her funeral on August 21, 2006. He has not yet determined his official royal name, but it is certain that it will not be Te Arikinui , the name his mother bore.

Tuheitia Paki was educated at Rakaumanga School in Huntly , Southwell School in Hamilton, and St. Stephen's College in the Bombay Hills . Before he became king, he was a manager and cultural advisor at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa University in Huntly .

Tuheitia Paki is married to Te Atawhai and has three children, Whatumoana, Korotangi and Naumai .
