The TCH Oldenburg e. V. (Tanzclub Harmonia Oldenburg eV) is a dance sport club in Oldenburg . The dance club was founded on December 5, 1983 by dance students from what was then the Beuss dance school in Oldenburg and is named after the dance tournament club Oldenburg e. V. the second oldest active dance club in Oldenburg. He has been independent since 1999.

The club, which has around 150 members, offers not only popular sports but also tournament dance (standard and Latin) and formation dancing . In the field of formation dancing , the club recently competed with a standard formation in the 1st Bundesliga standard for league competitions of the German Dance Sports Association .

Standard formations

A-team

The A-Team of TCH Oldenburg has competed in the 2. Bundesliga Standard since the 2005/2006 season, after having danced in the 2. Bundesliga once in the 2003/2004 season, but returned to the Regionalliga Nord- at the end of the season. West Standard Descent. After a season in the Regionalliga Nord-West Standard, the team reached 1st place in 2005 and qualified again for the relegation tournament, in which it took 2nd place and thus made it to the 2nd Bundesliga again.

In June 2010 the team was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga Standard after the 1st TC Ludwigsburg had completely withdrawn its B-Team, which competed in the 1st Bundesliga Standard, from the league. The TCH Oldenburg had taken 3rd place in the 2nd Bundesliga Standard in the previous season. At the end of the 2010/2011 season, the TCH Oldenburg A team was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga.

In the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 seasons, the TCH Oldenburg joined the TSC Blau-Gold Nienburg as the TSC Blau-Gold Nienburg / TCH Oldenburg formation. Both times they danced to the musical theme "It's Time" with music by Michael Bublé , to which TSC Blau-Gold Nienburg had already danced in the 2011/2012 season. The formation community won the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2012/2013 season and was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga.

After the 2013/2014 season, the formation community separated. TCH Oldenburg took over the starting position in the 1st Bundesliga Standard and competed in the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 seasons with the musical theme “Spirit of Enya”.

For the 2016/2017 season, the club returned the starting place in the 1st Bundesliga Standard after no team could be put together for the season. The Boston Club Düsseldorf moved up to the vacant starting place.

The team's coach was Holger Jäckel, who left his coaching activity on hold for the time being, as no capable team could be put together for the 2016/2017 season.

In the 2003/2004 season, the B-Team of TCH Oldenburg danced a choreography on the musical theme of “French Chansons”.

A newly established B-Team has been competing in league competitions in the Regionalliga Nord Standard since the 2013/2014 season under the theme “Phantom of the Opera”.

The coaches of the B-team are Holger Jäckel and Sonja Pawlas.

Latin formations

A-team

The Latin formation of the TCH Oldenburg, which was newly founded in May 2006, competed in the North Latin regional league for the first time in the 2006/2007 season with the musical theme "Copa Cabana" and immediately came second. As the winner of the subsequent promotion tournament, the team rose to the Oberliga North Latin. In the following season 2007/2008 the team danced again to the musical theme "Copa Cabana" in the big league. By winning all of the season's tournaments, the team made it to the North Latin Regionalliga in its second year of existence. Since the 2008/2009 season, the team has been dancing in the Regionalliga North Latin to the musical theme "Queen". In the 2009/2010 season it was second in the league and qualified for participation in the promotion tournament to the 2nd Bundesliga Latin, in which the team took 4th place.

As several clubs withdrew their teams from the 2nd Bundesliga for the 2012/2013 season, the TCH Oldenburg Latin formation could have moved up to the 2nd Bundesliga as fourth in the promotion tournament. However, after the team's coach, Angelo Adler, gave up his coaching activity for TCH Oldenburg at the end of June, the team disbanded in July 2012.

In 2008 the B-Team of TCH Oldenburg was founded, which competed in league competitions for the first time in the regional league North Latin in the 2008/2009 season with the musical theme "Copa Cabana". In the first season the team reached the 3rd place in the league and thus qualified for participation in the promotion tournament to the Oberliga North Latin. In the promotion tournament, the team also reached 3rd place and thus promotion to the Oberliga North Latin.

Also in the Oberliga North Latin, the team, which again competed with the musical theme "Copa Cabana", qualified with 3rd place for participation in the promotion tournament to the Regionalliga North Latin, but did not make it directly to the Regionalliga North Latin.

The coach of the B-team was Sascha Janzen, most recently an active dancer in the A-team of TCH Oldenburg.
