The TCDD series DE 24000 is a locomotive series of the Turkish state railways TCDD.
The diesel locomotives of the TCDD series DE 24000 were purchased for operation on non-electrified routes in Turkey. The vehicles can be used in front of both passenger and freight trains. The machines were built by Tülomsaş , who built the locomotives under license from MTE . The first locomotives were put into service in 1971, production ended after 431 locomotives in 1985.
The DE 24000 has been retired by the TCDD since 2003, but they continue to form an important backbone of the Turkish railways.
